COMMUNICATION

Cargill communicates with its employees through various channels:

Revista Cargill – Provides articles on topics of interest to the company in addition to publishing news about Cargill, with notes about the main events taking place in the company in Brazil and worldwide. The magazine features a section dedicated to special employees who share work-related experiences. It is also distributed to customers, suppliers, government entities, the community, employees and the press.

Jornal de Parede – Posted on bulletin boards throughout the facilities, this publication presents the highlights of the company and its units, primarily to employees who have no access to e-mail.

Cargill Comunica – This electronic newsletter is sent everyday to employees via e-mail.

Comunicar para Conectar (Communicate to Connect) – This interactive debate forum aims to expand communication and train managers in the dissemination of important information throughout the organization. The meetings are periodical and branch managers participate and interact via webstreaming. In 2009, the event was transmitted to around 15 plants during each of the two sessions held.

Intranet – Accessed by 4,745 employees in 2009, this channel also publishes Cargill news and is the platform for global tools such as C-Casts, C-Tube, and C-Blog which rely on the participation of the company’s global CEO, Greg Page, and other top executives. Employees can use this channel to send questions or comments to their leaders while remaining anonymous.

Internet – Cargill Brazil’s Internet page was changed in December 2009 and is now within the new international standards for the company’s website. The Facebook page is Cargill Careers, featuring career information and a link to Cargill’s global portal that stimulates discussion and takes questions about the company.

Press – The company maintains a structure to meet demands of the media and also to promote its actions of public interest. In 2009, Cargill received 523 requests from the media and made headlines in more than 6,750 articles in the printed media.

Survey – A survey was conducted with employees in 2009 to evaluate the effectiveness of the communication channels. The results will make it possible to improve communication with this important public.
