In 2009, the company confirmed its vocation with the launch of Corporate Responsibility Commitments, by whose guidelines this Annual Report for the period has been produced, including conduct of the company’s business, its humane workplace practices, environmental standards adopted and community involvement. The Report reveals how the company uses its knowledge and experience to face economic, social, and environmental challenges and deals with attributes and global adoption and how they apply in the lives of Brazilians. One example is the production of Liza brand cooking oil, which observes social, economic and environmental criteria, such as participation in the Soy Moratorium. Social and economic programs include qualification, initiatives to drive local development, training of suppliers and offering services to assist them (such as alternatives to manage production risks). Cargill maintains its Corporate Responsibility Commitments in constant evolution in order to align itself with the demands of its various stakeholders, considered in the identification of its strategy and the search for solutions that value them.
