SUSTAINABILITY

Cargill created the Sustainability area two years ago in order to work on the theme in Brazil and in 2009 the company set up a Sustainability Committee that brings together representatives from all Business and Functional Units. This committee debates adoption of practices according to the company’s global model, known as the Integrated Change Management Plan. The Committee defines the role of each member and expectations regarding actions, serving as a guide to identify positive aspects and aspects that need improvement for the development of a sustainability culture among employees, as well as how to introduce increasingly more sustainable practices into the business areas. The first step, already under way, is to diagnose the current stage and propose strategic priorities.
